As a travel writer, I’ve enjoyed spending time in faraway places over the years – discovering new destinations, tasting international cuisine, and connecting with the local people of each community that I’ve visited. But as we hunker down at home and practice social distancing, I’m reminded of how much beauty surrounds us right here in my home province of BC.
I’ve shared many stories of my travels closer to home, and thought I would round up my favourite places found in my own backyard. From off-the-beaten-path adventures, to my favourite foodie finds, here are just some of the places to visit in BC.

I have just done reading your article on your roots growing from the top of your head.I am also a person of color living in The new/old South Africa.Nelson Mandela’s stomping ground. We have an interesting situation here, where every one that can afford it buy weaves or wigs..Smothering their roots..In fact some of them do a complete shave of all their bodily hair. This happens in Africa of all places.I have an opinion or rather a few as to why that happens..Will save that for another time.I will also invite you too pop in on my Facebook page..Just look for Upstart Poet.My feeble attempts at doing poetry. It needs to be said that I love the way you write..Words flow like a river on its way to the sea.
